Frontend Development Internship

Finance teams often find themselves struggling with systems that were designed by people who have never looked at a balance sheet. At Alpine Business Consulting, we address the gap between financial processes and the technical tools that support them. We are currently working with a major French industrial partner to ensure their reporting systems work as intended, focusing on clean data flows and accurate reporting. Our work involves moving away from implementation theatre and toward functional, reliable systems that allow leadership to make decisions based on real numbers.

About the role
In this Frontend Development Internship, you will work on the interfaces that finance teams use every day. This role is not about building marketing pages, but about creating functional, precise dashboards and data entry layouts within EPM and analytics platforms. You will support our consulting team in building clear visualizations for a major French industrial client, helping to turn complex data into something readable and actionable. This is a fully remote position, requiring a high degree of self-discipline and clear communication as we collaborate across different regions to solve technical challenges.

What you will do

• Configure user interfaces within financial reporting tools to ensure they meet the specific needs of accounting teams.
• Develop and maintain internal style guides and documentation to keep reporting dashboards consistent.
• Assist in the remediation of legacy configurations where the original setup was not intuitive for the end users.
• Build data visualizations that help controllers identify anomalies in the month end close process.
• Write clean, simple code for custom components in web based analytics tools.
• Collaborate with finance consultants to understand how data needs to be displayed for different management levels.
• Test the usability of new reporting layouts to ensure they are accessible and performant.
• Produce technical documentation that helps client administrators manage their systems independently.

What we are looking for

• Foundational knowledge of HTML and CSS, with an ability to write clean and organized code.
• Basic familiarity with JavaScript and how it interacts with web based data platforms.
• A logical approach to problem solving, especially when dealing with nested data and complex reporting hierarchies.
• Extreme attention to detail, specifically regarding labels, alignment, and data accuracy.
• Effective communication skills for a remote environment, including the ability to document your work clearly.
• A basic understanding of how databases and frontend interfaces exchange information.
• Enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field.

Bonus points

• Basic exposure to business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience with SQL or other query languages for retrieving data.
• Familiarity with financial concepts like the chart of accounts or the consolidation process.
