Finance IT Manager

JOB PURPOSE The Finance IT Manager is responsible for keeping existing Finance systems running effectively with limited, manageable downtime; ensuring adherence to technical and administrative standards within the division; executing all Finance IT projects through the Finance IT Team and multiple business areas requiring deep solution integration; researching issues affecting business systems development; putting measures in place to adapt to the requirements of finance projects, sponsors, environments and stakeholders; and managing vendor/partner engagement on new solutions in developing a fit-for-purpose Finance architecture. This role reports into the Group Finance Reporting structure for all new project-related initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Manage team members' delivery through code reviews, Agile/Scrum sprint planning and daily stand-ups. - Manage team output, workload, new products, enhancements and quality. - Maintain and develop RPA solutions using UiPath. - Set context and understanding within the Finance IT team on scope, quality and time, securing team commitment. - Project-manage work prioritisation and assignment for development team members. - Design new IT solutions and modify, enhance or adapt existing systems to improve business efficiency and productivity. - Specify system requirements, operations and user interface, and present proposals to stakeholders. - Support the Finance IT Team in resolving complex problems while adhering to standards and objectives. - Report on financial and operational indicators relating to business systems; provide feedback to senior management on achievements, pending issues and recommendations. - Maintain customer service standards in line with SLAs; provide technical advice beyond normal business systems duties. - Communicate effectively with external parties, the business systems team and other divisions. - Ensure compliance with processes, policies and procedures; identify areas for improvement. - Participate with senior management on product development, process, policy and strategy initiatives. - Maintain sound market intelligence on business systems in the industry. - Manage variances against organisational standards; provide and follow up on corrective action plans.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - IT Degree or equivalent (minimum). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE - At least 8-10 years development/systems working experience. - At least 1 year experience with UiPath. - At least 3 years managerial experience. - Practical Agile experience. - 3-5 years ERP solution experience. REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Skills: SQL; business management; strong analytical and problem-solving; strong technical programming/development; communication (written and presentation); relationship management; negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution (internal and external); data analysis and interpretation for business systems; sound MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); career- and result-orientated; exposure to Financial Services. Knowledge: Microsoft stack development (.NET); UiPath; data integration and warehousing tools; sound understanding of commercial and industrial short-term insurance, including risk management, underwriting, claims procedure, insurance terminology, reinsurance and treaties, product knowledge and financial knowledge.
