About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Coach to lead our 1st XV Rugby team for the 2027 season.

This is an opportunity to build on the rich history of rugby at Kelston Boys’ High School, nurture the next generation of West Auckland rugby talent and support our young men to develop as both players and students.

The role will involve:

• Leading and developing the 1st XV rugby programme
  

• Weekly planning for the team and individual players
  

• Match-day coaching and management
  

• Game analysis and performance review
  

• Supporting and mentoring players in their development both on and off the field
  

• Fostering a positive, disciplined and high-performing team culture
  

• Working with players, staff and the wider school community to grow the programme
  

About You

The successful applicant will have:

• Experience coaching in a school environment
  

• A strong understanding of rugby and player development
  

• The vision and drive to continue growing the programme
  

• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
  

• A commitment to mentoring young men and helping them reach their potential
