Excavator/Posi Combo - $40+hr

Join a fast-growing Brisbane landscaping company delivering large-scale hotel, bar, acreage and commercial projects. Operate a variety of machinery while working as part of a hands-on crew on technically interesting landscape construction projects.

A specialist landscape design, construction and maintenance company is growing its Brisbane team and is looking for an experienced Excavator / Combo Operator to join the business full-time.

The company works predominantly on large-scale commercial projects including hotels, bars and apartment developments, alongside select acreage estates and residential builds. Projects are varied and substantial, involving everything from major sandstone retaining walls and site preparation through to drainage, irrigation, concreting and complete landscape construction.

This role would suit an experienced operator who enjoys doing more than sitting in a machine all day. Depending on what's happening on site, you'll be operating excavators, Posi-Tracks, tippers and trucks, then jumping out and working alongside the crew to get the job completed.

About the Role

You'll essentially run a combo role, operating the machinery required for each stage of the project while also being an active member of the landscape construction team.

We're particularly interested in someone with strong excavation experience who understands levels, falls, trenching and site preparation, and who is confident working around sandstone, retaining walls, drainage and concrete works.

Your work will include:

• Operating 1.7, 4 and 8-tonne excavators
  
• Operating Posi-Tracks / track loaders
  
• Operating swivel tippers and other site machinery
  
• Driving MR/HR trucks where licensed
  
• Land clearing and general site preparation
  
• Trenching and working accurately to required levels and falls
  
• Stormwater trenching and installation
  
• Water and irrigation trenching and installation
  
• Operating auger and jackhammer attachments
  
• Excavation and preparation for sandstone/rock retaining walls
  
• Concrete site preparation
  
• Retaining wall preparation and installation
  
• Loading, moving and placing materials around site
  
• Assisting the landscape construction crew when machinery isn't required
  

This is not a machine-only position. You'll be part of a close-knit crew, so we're looking for someone happy to get out of the excavator, grab the tools and help wherever required to keep the project moving.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Above everything else, we're looking for a confident, experienced excavator operator who is reliable, hands-on and works well as part of a team.
Ideally, you'll bring:

• Strong excavator operating experience, particularly across the 1.7–8 tonne range
  
• Experience operating Posi-Tracks / track loaders
  
• Proven experience with land clearing, trenching and site preparation
  
• Confidence working with sandstone, rock and retaining wall construction
  
• A good understanding of levels and falls
  
• Experience with stormwater, drainage and/or irrigation installation
  
• Experience using auger and jackhammer attachments
  
• Concrete preparation experience
  
• MR or HR licence highly regarded
  
• The ability to read a site and understand what needs to happen next
  
• A practical, problem-solving approach
  
• A strong work ethic and pride in getting the job finished properly
