Import Customs Clearance specialist

Our clients specialise in providing an end-to-end customs solutions for their clients within Air, Road and Sea freight Imports and Exports and are currently looking for an Import Customs Clearance specialist for their Ipswich/Felixstowe office.

Purpose of the role:

To provide end-to-end customs clearance for Import shipments for both European Road freight Import shipments and Container sea freight Import shipments.

Duties will include:

• Responsible for managing the end-to-end customs clearance process for import shipments
• Handling Import customs entries for both container and trailer freight Import shipments including some complex customs entries.
• Ensuring full compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, and company procedures is met.
• Liaising with customs authorities and clients.
• Ensuring timely release of cargo
• Liaising with hauliers to arrange some container freight deliveries.
• Liaising with customers and maintaining excellent customer service
• Providing guidance to junior team members

Requirements

Experience required:

• You will need to have experience of working within either a customs brokerage, a shipping line or freight forwarders and be able to input customs entries into port systems.
• You will be aware of customs regulations and compliance.
• You will have good customer service skills
• Have good attention to detail.
