Control Design Engineer

We are Sisco Jobs, a recruitment consultancy based in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. We are recruiting for the position of Control Design Engineer in Muscat, Oman.

We are seeking an experienced electrical design professional with strong expertise in transformer control and protection schematics, control logic, auxiliary wiring, and technical design documentation.

The ideal candidate will have practical experience with EPLAN and AutoCAD, along with sound knowledge of power and distribution transformer control systems, cooling arrangements, tap changer circuits, transformer monitoring, and applicable international electrical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and review control and protection schematics for power and distribution transformers in accordance with applicable specifications and standards.
  
• Develop control circuit drawings for ONAN/ONAF cooling systems, Marshalling Kiosks, and Remote Tap Changer Control (RTCC) cubicles.
  
• Engineer OLTC and OCTC control circuits, including tap selection, electrical interlocks, indications, alarms, and associated logic where applicable.
  
• Integrate bushing, thermal, and partial discharge monitoring systems into transformer control and monitoring arrangements.
  
• Prepare electrical wiring diagrams, terminal schedules, control documentation, technical drawings, and operating manuals.
  

Required Skills

1. Strong knowledge of transformer protection schemes, auxiliary wiring, alarms, interlocks, and control logic.
   
2. Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing electrical schematics and wiring drawings.
   
3. Ability to develop and interpret tap changer control circuits and remote tap changer control arrangements.
   
4. Knowledge of ONAN/ONAF cooling circuits and transformer condition-monitoring interfaces.
   
5. Familiarity with IS, IEC, ANSI standards, communication protocols, and HMI/SCADA integration.
   

Preferred Skills

1. Experience preparing electrical control drawings for solar skid systems.
   
2. Working knowledge of SAP/ERP systems for engineering documentation and material coordination.
   
3. Familiarity with UL certification requirements and NEMA standards.
   

Work Experience Requirements

• Minimum experience expectation: 5–6+ years in electrical control design, preferably involving power and distribution transformers.
  
• Candidates should have practical exposure to transformer control schematics, protection systems, drawing preparation, design reviews, and manufacturing/testing support.
  
• Experience coordinating with utilities, consultants, customers, and manufacturing teams is highly relevant.
  

Education

Minimum: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering
Preferred: B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering
Additional (optional): EPLAN training, AutoCAD Electrical certification, IEC standards training
