Senior RPA / Intelligent Automation Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Senior RPA / Intelligent Automation Consultant to support, develop, and help manage an Automation Center of Excellence (CoE) within a banking environment.

The role requires a strong combination of RPA and Intelligent Automation expertise, digital transformation experience, technical acumen, stakeholder management, and CoE governance. The consultant will work closely with business functions, IT teams, technical partners, vendors, and senior leadership to identify and prioritize automation opportunities, develop business cases, manage the automation pipeline, coordinate end-to-end delivery, and measure the business value generated through automation.

The successful candidate will also contribute to defining the bank's RPA and Intelligent Automation strategy, operating model, governance framework, roadmap, and product backlog, while ensuring automation initiatives deliver measurable improvements in cost, productivity, operational efficiency, and customer experience.

RPA CoE Strategy & Governance

• Support the establishment, development, and ongoing management of the RPA / Intelligent Automation Center of Excellence (CoE).
  
• Contribute to defining and executing the organization's RPA and Intelligent Automation strategy, roadmap, operating model, and governance framework.
  
• Establish and maintain automation standards, methodologies, policies, controls, and delivery frameworks to ensure consistent and scalable automation delivery.
  
• Own and manage RPA-related requirements and initiatives within the automation product backlog, ensuring alignment with business priorities and the overall digital transformation strategy.
  
• Drive a structured governance model covering automation intake, assessment, prioritization, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and benefits realization.
  
• Promote automation best practices and support the development of a sustainable, enterprise-wide automation capability.
  

Automation Opportunity Identification & Pipeline Management

• Partner with business functions to identify and assess RPA, Intelligent Automation, and Hyperautomation opportunities across different processes.
  
• Evaluate business processes for automation suitability based on complexity, transaction volumes, standardization, risk, technical feasibility, and potential business value.
  
• Manage and prioritize the automation opportunity pipeline, ensuring high-value initiatives are appropriately assessed and progressed.
  
• Facilitate process discovery and assessment sessions with business stakeholders to understand current processes, pain points, inefficiencies, and automation potential.
  
• Support the preparation of business cases, cost-benefit analyses, ROI calculations, KPIs, and expected business benefits for proposed automation initiatives.
  

End-to-End Automation Delivery

• Oversee the complete automation lifecycle from opportunity assessment and process discovery through solution design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
  
• Coordinate delivery activities across business teams, IT, developers, technical partners, solution providers, and external vendors.
  
• Provide technical guidance on RPA and Intelligent Automation solutions and ensure proposed solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
  
• Leverage strong technical knowledge to support the execution of active automation projects and implementation of solutions for predefined manual and repetitive processes.
  
• Support automation testing, UAT coordination, deployment readiness, and production transition activities.
  
• Monitor deployed automations and collaborate with relevant teams to resolve operational or technical issues impacting automation performance.
  

Business Value, ROI & KPI Management

• Define and establish KPIs and performance measures for RPA and Intelligent Automation initiatives.
  
• Track and report realized benefits, including cost savings, productivity improvements, FTE optimization, reduction in manual effort, turnaround-time improvements, accuracy, and overall process efficiency.
  
• Develop a KPI-driven and benefits-focused automation culture, ensuring initiatives are evaluated based on measurable organizational value.
  
• Assess and define the ROI of automation initiatives and effectively communicate their value to business stakeholders and senior management.
  
• Champion high-value RPA and Intelligent Automation initiatives at an organizational level to drive adoption and maximize business benefits.
  

Program, Budget & Stakeholder Management

• Manage automation roadmaps, project timelines, delivery milestones, risks, dependencies, resources, and budgets.
  
• Provide regular management updates covering the automation pipeline, implementation status, budgets, KPIs, benefits, issues, and key risks.
  
• Work closely with senior leadership, including the Head of Digital Transformation, to ensure automation initiatives remain aligned with broader transformation objectives.
  
• Build strong relationships across business functions, IT, operations, risk, technical teams, vendors, and senior leadership.
  
• Manage expectations and facilitate effective decision-making by clearly communicating project status, challenges, risks, and business outcomes.
  
• Drive automation awareness, adoption, and engagement across business functions through workshops, stakeholder sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  

Requirements

6–8+ years of overall professional experience, with strong exposure to RPA, Intelligent Automation, Hyperautomation, or Digital Transformation.
Proven experience establishing, managing, or supporting an RPA / Intelligent Automation Center of Excellence (CoE).
Strong understanding of automation CoE operating models, governance frameworks, standards, controls, and delivery methodologies.
Demonstrated experience identifying, assessing, prioritizing, and managing a pipeline of automation opportunities.
Experience defining or contributing to enterprise RPA strategies, automation roadmaps, and product backlogs.
Strong knowledge of leading automation platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Microsoft Power Automate, or comparable technologies.
Sufficient technical expertise to understand automation solution architecture and contribute to the implementation of RPA solutions.
Strong experience developing automation business cases, ROI models, KPIs, benefits realization frameworks, and cost-benefit analyses.
Experience managing automation projects, budgets, timelines, roadmaps, risks, and cross-functional delivery teams.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with business teams, IT, vendors, technical teams, and senior leadership.
Exposure to complementary technologies such as OCR/IDP, workflow and BPM automation, process mining, AI-enabled automation, Agentic AI, or Generative AI would be an advantage.
Previous experience within banking or financial services is strongly preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical automation solutions.
