We’re looking for an Intermediate Software Engineer with strong mobile development experience to join an established product engineering team building and evolving a mobile application used by customers locally and internationally.

The team is rebuilding and enhancing its mobile experience using Flutter, and this role would suit an engineer who cares about both how a product works and how it feels to use.

This is not simply a coding role. You’ll work closely with Product Managers, Product Designers, QA Engineers and fellow Developers, contributing to technical decisions while advocating for usability, interaction quality and a polished customer experience.

What you’ll be doing

Develop, maintain and expand mobile application functionality.

Work within a cross-functional product team to solve real customer problems.

Build high-quality, scalable and performant mobile experiences.

Take ownership of UI implementation quality, consistency and interaction design.

Collaborate closely with Product Designers to translate design concepts into polished, production-ready functionality.

Identify and address performance issues at scale.

Investigate and resolve software defects.

Design, develop and test solutions within an Agile environment.

Identify problem areas and recommend practical improvements.

Contribute to improving engineering practices, development processes and technical standards across the team.

Requirements

4+ years’ software development experience

A BSc, BEng or similar qualification with Computer Science as a primary focus, or equivalent practical experience.

Hands-on experience with mobile technologies such as Flutter, Java, Kotlin, Swift or Objective C

Experience working with modern mobile frameworks and libraries.

A strong appreciation for intuitive user interfaces and excellent user experience.

The ability to translate design intent into accurate, performant implementations.

Experience working in an Agile development environment.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Experience or exposure to any of the following would be valuable:

Design systems and component libraries.

Figma or similar design tools.

Mobile animation, motion and micro-interactions.

Mobile accessibility standards.

Broader engineering capability across web frontend, backend, data or design.
