Job Title: Trainer, Japanese Language

Department: CMTI

Purpose of the Role:

The Trainer, Japanese Language is responsible for delivering high-quality, learner-centered Japanese language instruction (JLPT/ JFT N5–N4 levels), preparing learners for the Japanese – Language Proficiency Test (JLPT/JFT) and equipping them with the language skills and cultural competencies necessary for academic, professional, and employment success. The role also involves curriculum development, continuous assessment, learner support, and fostering partnerships to enhance program quality and institutional growth.

Key Responsibilities:


  1. Curriculum Design and Resource Management:

Develop and regularly update the Institute’s Japanese language curriculum to ensure alignment with JLPT/JFT standards. Identify, source, and integrate appropriate teaching materials and resources, including authentic cultural and multimedia content for effective instruction.

  1. Deliver Inclusive, Engaging and Supportive Lessons:

Deliver interactive, learner-centered Japanese lessons across all four language skills; Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, using authentic, up-to-date materials and digital tools. Accommodate diverse learning styles while fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment aligned with CMTI values.

3.     Achieve Learner Proficiency and Employability Targets:

Ensure that at least 80% of Japanese language learners successfully pass their targeted JLPT/JFT levels (N5–N4) and are well-prepared for interviews or opportunities with Japanese employers and partner institutions by the end of their training program

  1. Professional Development Implementation:

Complete at least one Japanese language teaching certification or professional development course per year and integrate at least 75% of newly learned methodologies and pedagogical approaches into lesson plans and learner feedback reports by the end of each quarter.

  1. Learner-Centered and Adaptive Instruction:

Design and implement interactive, communicative learning activities that develop learners’ reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning needs, proficiency levels, and cultural backgrounds.

  1. Learner Assessment and Continuous Feedback:

Schedule, prepare, administer, and grade assessments on an ongoing basis, ensuring continuous evaluation of learner progress. Provide constructive, feedback within one week of each assessment, and escalate learners with significant performance challenges to the Training Coordinator for targeted intervention.

  1. Learner Progress Tracking and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, test results, and learner progress. Conduct individualized coaching and follow – up sessions after each unit to identify and address specific learning gaps. Generate and submit monthly progress reports to the Training Coordinator.

  1. Marketing and Enrollment Support:

Collaborate with the marketing team to promote Japanese language programs, share learner success stories, and encourage referrals to increase enrollment by at least 10% annually.

  1. Partnerships and Collaborations:

Facilitate and support partnerships with Japanese language examination bodies, cultural institutions and related organizations to expand program credibility and opportunities for learners

  1. Additional Responsibilities:

Undertake other tasks as assigned by the supervisor, ensuring alignment with the institute’s goals and timely execution of delegated duties.



Requirements

Required Qualification and Experience:


Ø  Japanese language proficiency, JLPT/JFT certification at N2 or N1 level.

Ø  At least two (2) to three (3) years of teaching experience in a recognized institution.

Ø  Excellent command of the Japanese language, both verbal and written.


Skills and Competencies:


Ø  Cultural Knowledge: Deep understanding of Japanese culture, etiquette, and communication norms.

Ø  Digital Literacy: Ability to use teaching software, online education platforms, and remote teaching methods effectively.

Ø  Communication Skills: Ability to connect with learners, build rapport, and deliver lessons clearly and engagingly.

Ø  Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work well with diverse individuals, be a team player, and build positive relationships with students and staff.

Ø  Classroom Management: Strong organizational and classroom management skills to maintain a productive learning environment.
