Energy Infrastructure Programme Director

We are conducting a confidential search for an Energy Infrastructure Programme Director to lead delivery of a portfolio of gas-to-power and grid infrastructure programmes for an organisation based in Lagos, working on-site. Lagos is the commercial and regulatory centre of Nigeria's energy sector, and this is a director-level opportunity for a programme leader who can take projects from structuring through construction and grid integration.

In this role, you will own programme governance across multiple concurrent gas-to-power and grid infrastructure projects, manage relationships with NNPC on upstream gas supply arrangements and the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) on licensing and tariff matters, and ensure programme compliance with Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) requirements. You will lead independent power producer (IPP) structuring and negotiation, and direct delivery of off-grid and mini-grid programmes alongside core grid-connected infrastructure.

You will build and lead a team of project directors and technical leads, coordinate community and state-government stakeholder engagement across project-affected areas, and represent the programme to investors, joint venture partners, and regulators. You will also drive the financing structure and investment case for phased infrastructure expansion.

Nice to Have:

• Direct experience with NNPC gas supply arrangements or upstream-to-power structuring
• Background navigating NERC licensing, tariff, and regulatory processes
• Familiarity with Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) compliance requirements
• Experience structuring or negotiating IPP agreements
• Track record delivering off-grid or mini-grid programmes in West Africa
