•Collection of samples by driving car safely, obeying the traffic laws & road signs, maintaining a safe speed, avoiding distractions (such as use of mobile phones), keeping a safe distance from other vehicles and giving preference to heavy vehicles like slag dumper.

Collection and timely preparation of samples during production processes like DR, Lime and RBQ.
Collection and preparation of samples during import of raw materials like oxide, limestone, dolomite and ferro alloys.
Collection and preparation of samples during export of finished products like DRI, HBI, lime products, EF& LF-Slag and steel billets. Using various sampling equipment like auto sampler, jaw crusher, riffler, pulverize, shovel, cutting machine for collection and sample preparation.
Collection and preparation of samples during export of by-products like DR slurry, mill scale, slag, DRI & HBI fines, DR dust and oxide fines.
Clearly identifying the export/import samples by writing on collection bag sample name, ship name, date and lot number.
To collect and prepare sample in such a way that the sample represents the whole lot which is error free and unbiased.
Carrying out size distribution of samples collected during import/export by using sieves of different sizes as per the agreed specification or contract.
Conduct physical testing like tumbler index testing, bulk density (BD), and moisture testing by using various laboratory equipment like oven, tumbler machine and recording the analysis data.
Recording the data related to collected samples during production/import & export activities.
Reducing the sample lot by carrying out coning quartering technique/riffling to get homogenous reduced representative sample.
Further processing of reduced samples to make it suitable for analysis by following proper sample preparation methods like crushing and milling which are time dependent activities and varies with different types of material.
Cleaning of all sampling and testing equipment/devices after each sample preparation to avoid contamination.
Communicate immediately and clearly to the Shift Supervisor about any issues or abnormalities observed during sample collection and preparation, including those related to the sampling area, sampling equipment, or the sample itself.
During shift change over communicate with the reliever regarding the completed and handover job.

Requirements

Qualifications

Secondary School Certificate/12th standard from recognized institute.
Valid light vehicle (Manual) driving license from Qatar. License to be arranged within 4 to 6 months.

Job-Specific Skills (Technical):

Minimum 2 years’ relevant laboratory work experience.
Good knowledge and understanding with skills related to sampling equipment, methods, and procedures.
Good knowledge of operating and safety procedures and standards.
