Technical Sales Specialist – HPE Infrastructure

We’re looking for a technically minded Technical Sales Specialist to join a high-performing enterprise technology environment, supporting customers and partners with the design and positioning of HPE infrastructure solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, solution design and sales, with exposure to enterprise servers, storage, hybrid cloud, virtualisation and data protection.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and position HPE infrastructure solutions across Compute, Storage, Hybrid Cloud and Data Protection.
  
• Engage with customers and channel partners to understand their business and technical requirements.
  
• Translate customer requirements into practical, technically sound infrastructure solutions.
  
• Develop and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs), configurations and technical proposals.
  
• Use sizing and configuration tools to ensure accurate and compliant solutions.
  
• Support the design of HPE ProLiant server solutions, including rack and blade environments.
  
• Work with HPE storage technologies such as Alletra, StoreOnce and StoreEver.
  
• Support Hybrid Cloud, virtualisation and HPE GreenLake solutions.
  
• Assist with backup and data protection solutions, including Veeam and HPE StoreOnce.
  
• Prepare HLDs, technical diagrams, solution summaries, presentations and supporting documentation.
  
• Support sales teams during customer meetings, technical discussions, workshops and demonstrations.
  
• Identify configuration risks, compatibility issues, lead-time constraints and solution gaps before quotation.
  
• Collaborate with senior technical specialists and solution architects on complex opportunities.
  
• Support infrastructure modernisation, technology refresh and migration initiatives.
  
• Maintain accurate opportunity, BOM and technical documentation.
  
• Stay up to date with HPE technologies, certifications, industry developments and competitive solutions.
  

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  
• Relevant IT qualifications are advantageous.
  
• Previous experience in technical presales, solution design, infrastructure sales or a similar technical role.
  
• HPE certifications such as HPE ATP, HPE ASE or equivalent are advantageous.
  
• Certifications in VMware, Veeam, CompTIA Server+, Network+ or related technologies would be beneficial.
  
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to customers and partners when required.
  

Technical Skills

You should have a solid understanding of:

• Enterprise IT infrastructure and data centre technologies
  
• HPE ProLiant servers
  
• Enterprise storage and data protection
  
• Virtualisation – VMware, Hyper-V or similar
  
• Backup technologies, particularly Veeam and/or HPE StoreOnce
  
• Enterprise networking and infrastructure integration
  
• Hybrid Cloud environments
  
• Configuration and sizing tools
  
• Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  
• Technical proposals and solution documentation
  
• Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills
