Virtual Assistant YouTube Video Editor

This is a remote position.

We are looking for a talented and reliable video editor to join our team long-term and help create engaging, high-quality videos for our Personal Finance and Investing YouTube channel.

This is an ongoing opportunity with the potential for bonuses, increased pay, and additional responsibilities based on the quality of your work, reliability, and overall channel performance.

Work Details

• Edit 2–3 videos per week
  
• Each video will be approximately 8–12 minutes long
  
• Initial package: 12 videos for $480–$600
  
• Rate: $40–$50 per video, depending on experience and editing quality
  
• Long-term work available for the right editor
  
• Bonuses and pay increases may be offered based on performance
  

What We Will Provide

For each video, we will provide:

• A completed script
  
• Professional voice-over
  
• Thumbnail
  
• Clear editing direction and reference channels when needed
  

Your Responsibilities

You will be responsible for turning the script and voice-over into an engaging, professional, high-retention YouTube video.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Gathering relevant stock footage, images, screenshots, and other visual materials
  
• Adding clear and professional captions
  
• Using sound effects and background music where appropriate
  
• Creating smooth transitions and visual effects
  
• Using motion graphics, charts, graphs, and text animations
  
• Maintaining strong pacing to keep viewers engaged
  
• Following the overall style and quality of our reference channels
  
• Delivering videos on schedule
  

Editing Style and Required Methods

To succeed in this role, you must be highly proficient in the faceless documentary-style editing techniques commonly used in the personal finance and investing space.

Motion Graphics and Visual Storytelling

You must be able to bring financial concepts and information to life through engaging motion graphics, animated charts, graphs, maps, highlighted statistics, and other visual storytelling techniques.

Parallax and 2.5D Effects

You should be comfortable animating photographs and other static images using smooth panning, zooming, layered movement, and 3D depth effects to maintain visual interest.

Immersive Sound Design

You must know how to use carefully selected sound effects, including whooshes, risers, impacts, transitions, and ambient sounds.

Background music should support the narrative, match the pacing, and improve the viewer experience without overpowering the voice-over.

High-Retention Pacing

You should understand how to create videos that hold the viewer's attention from beginning to end.

This includes using:

• Dynamic captions
  
• Smooth transitions
  
• Frequent visual changes
  
• Pattern interrupts
  
• B-roll
  
• Motion graphics
  
• Zooms and camera movements
  
• Well-timed animations
  
• Sound effects and music changes
  

Ideal Candidate

The ideal editor should:

• Have experience editing faceless YouTube videos
  
• Understand storytelling, pacing, and audience retention
  
• Be familiar with finance, investing, business, or documentary-style content
  
• Be able to independently find relevant visuals and supporting materials
  
• Be skilled in motion graphics, sound design, and image animation
  
• Have strong attention to detail
  
• Communicate clearly and meet deadlines
  
• Be open to feedback and revisions
  
• Be interested in building a long-term working relationship

Requirements

18+ with valid government ID/passport

Available for 2–3 videos per week
