Barista

• Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, specialty coffees, teas, and cold beverages to the café’s quality standards
  
• Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and process payments through the point-of-sale system
  
• Operate, clean, and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other cafe equipment
  
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic work area in line with Qatar Ministry of Public Health food safety regulations
  
• Monitor stock levels of coffee, milk, syrups, and supplies, and report shortages to the supervisor
  
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and daily reconciliation
  
• Support the preparation of light snacks, pastries, and sandwiches when required
  
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures at all times
  
• Contribute to special events, exhibitions, and university functions held on campus
  

Requirements

Essential:

• High school diploma or equivalent
  
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a barista or in a cafe/hospitality setting
  
• Strong knowledge of espresso preparation, milk steaming, and basic latte art
  
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
  
• Good command of English; Arabic will be an advantage
  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods
  
• Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings and in line with the academic calendar
  
• Valid Food Handler’s Health Card (or willingness to obtain one)
  

Preferred:

• Barista certification or hospitality training
  
• Previous experience in a university, corporate, or high-volume cafe
  
• Basic cashier experience
  
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment
